The festival GOLDEN MASK IN ESTONIA

shows the best Russian performances of the last seasons which have become the nominees and the winners of the Russian Festival Golden Mask.

The Golden Mask festival is the most important All-Russia theatre festival representing performances, which have been nominated for the Golden Mask Award. The festival is held with support of the Ministry of culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of Moscow.
The Golden Mask is the National Theatre Award established in 1994 by the Theatre Union of Russia and is given to productions in all genres of theatre art: drama, opera, ballet, operetta / musical and puppet theatre. For these years Golden Mask has become the most authoritative and prestigious award in the field of theatre art in Russia.

Since 2005 the Golden Mask has been developing its activity in the field of international cultural cooperation presenting the best of Russian theatre in Estonia. Festival Golden Mask in Estonia is one of the most important theatre events of the year, interest in which unites Russian and Estonian public. The festival shows the best Russian performances of the last seasons which have become the nominees and the winners of the Russian Festival Golden Mask. Seminars, master-classes, lectures are also organized during the festival. All performances are carried out with simultaneous interpretation to the Estonian language.

The festival is held with support of the Ministries of culture of Russia and Estonia and is a part of the long-term program of cultural cooperation between the countries. Festival is also supported by the municipalities of Tallinn, Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Embassies of Estonia and Russia.
