Fine 5 Dance Theatre is the second Estonian modern dance company after the Nordstar Dance Theatre. It started out as a collaboration of 5 dancers from the Nordstar Dance Theatre in 1992. Fine 5 Dance Theatre has worked with choreographers representing different styles: René Nõmmik, Daniel Tinazzi, Eileen Jones, Cloude-Yane Roulin, Tommi Kitti.
From 1997 two dance artists - Tiina Ollesk and René Nõmmik, have led Fine 5 Dance Theatre. They are trying to find their own way of thinking in movements and combining different possibilities for improvisation and dance techniques. Fine 5 has performed in USA, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Russia and Baltic States and has won prizes at Vitebsk Modern Dance Festival (Byelorussia) in 1992, 1993, 1995, 1999, 2001 and at Pinerolo Contemporary Dance Contest (Italy) in 1997.
Fine 5 Dance Theatre is supported by the Estonian Ministry of Culture, the Cultural Endowment of Estonia (Eesti Kultuurkapital), the Nordic Council, the Estonian National Culture Foundation (Eesti Rahvuskultuurifond).
T. Ollesk and R. Nõmmik have also established their own dance school. Fine 5 Dance School started as a centre for contemporary dance in 1994. Most of Estonian dance artists who are active now in contemporary dance have learned there. The school has hosted teachers from Finland, Sweden, England, France, Switzerland, Belgium, USA teaching modern dance, contemporary dance, and improvisation. Fine 5 Dance School was the winner of the dance competition for young dancers 2001 and 2002 in Estonia. Fine 5 students have performed around Estonia, in Lithuania and Poland. They have continued studies at dance universities in Estonia and Europe.
